Happy Holidays! Mom and I kicked off the holiday season with a little shopping trip to Greenbrier on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.....big mistake with two small children! We shopped for a long time at Garden Ridge only to find that the line to checkout was over 1 hour. We then headed to the Texas Roadhouse for lunch. It was the perfect way to kick off the festive season....get in the middle of all the hustle and bustle!
That same weekend I started my attempt for the perfect Christmas card picture of my girls together. Needless to say that is next to impossible. If you got a Christmas card from us you know that I didn't accomplish that goal, but I used individual pictures this year. This is about the best I could do.
Our next Christmas adventure was our annual trip to see the Legendary Santa in Richmond. I was a little nervous about this since Caroline doesn't like Santa very much. The first two pictures show her whimpering in Joan's lap as we waited in line. I must add that we left really early so we could get in the room and see him come down the chimney only to have missed it by 8 people. I got over that pretty quickly. I was a little disappointed that the great old Santa that has been there for 1000 years was not there this day. We had one of Santa's helpers that was a little younger. I got over that quickly as well when Caroline changed her whole attitude towards Santa and actually gave him a hug, sat on his knee and told him what she wanted! I don't know how this happened or why, but I was sure glad that it did! She went from crying about him to liking him while we stood in line :)
All dressed up for another attempt at a great holiday picture together! Big and MeMe gave us these cute matching dresses. It is impossible to get them to cooperate at the same time :)
The next weekend we tried to get our cousins together for a little photo session because all BeBe wanted for Christmas was a picture of all 4 grandkids together. They did pretty good, but it is sooooo hard to get these pictures with 4 kids that are 3 and under!
The gingerbread houses were a big hit!
